Updated My Channel Page Now Available
Every user on SchoolTube now has an updated My Channel page under their account. In fact, students for the first time now have the My Channel feature on their account. My Channel is a digital portfolio consisting of the videos that you want to share with the public all under one page. In addition, the My Channel page can be branded with an image and description of your school, department, organization or yourself! You can share the My Channel page in its entirety by using its dedicated URL.
My Channel can be especially helpful if your school has a daily news show as it provides a quick, low-cost way to create a web page on which to display current and past news shows.
Teachers! Encourage your students to create a free SchoolTube account. Their My Channel page can become a useful digital portfolio where they can share school project videos, sports videos, personal videos or other efforts with others – including college recruiters!
Partner Spotlight: Storyline Online
The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s award-winning children’s literacy website, Storyline Online, is a longstanding SchoolTube content partner and their actor-read videos are among our highest watched.
Sharing Storyline videos with young students is a great way to keep them engaged. The actors have a unique way of really bringing the stories to life.
Storyline streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations. Readers include Viola Davis, Chris Pine, Lily Tomlin, Kevin Costner, Annette Bening, James Earl Jones, Betty White and dozens more.
Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading.
