What is the importance of a great video thumbnail image? Well, as the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” thus creating a good thumbnail image is worth the effort. A video thumbnail is a single frame of a video, displayed on a web page or video hosting site. SchoolTube offers the ability to change or edit the thumbnail of a video in multiple ways. The thumbnail image of a video is an important aid for sharing information about a video’s content and to drive viewership.
Thumbnail editing. SchoolTube offers 4 methods of editing a thumbnail image:
- Default (The system defaults to the first image of the video.)
- Auto-Select an image (A option to select from 1 of 10 preset images generated by the system.)
- Capturing an image. (Use the video play bar to scroll through a video, frame an image, and select.)
- Upload an image. (Create an image and upload in place of a system generated image.)
Step 1 – Upload your video.
A video must be uploaded and saved as either private or published in a channel before its thumbnail can be edited. Watch Uploading Videos to learn how.
